flickr:小さいけれど重要な変化2点

Flickr NewsとFlickrMailでアナウンスされているのでflickrユーザの方は周知のことと思いますが、重要な情報なのでエントリーを起こします。 Flickr Newsの"31st January, 2007"で（個別記事のURLを持たないので日付で確認してください。）小さいけれどとても重要な変更が2点アナウンスされています。

1. In our ongoing efforts to Make Flickr BetterTM, we're introducing two additional limits: the new maximum number of contacts is 3,000 contacts (good luck with that), and each photo on Flickr can have a maximum of 75 tags. We love your freedom, but, in this particular case, limiting these things will actually improve the system performance, making pages load faster across the site for everyone and cut out some unwelcome spammy behaviors. 1つめは、負荷軽減策の為"contacts"(まあ「マイミク」みたいなもんです)を3,000人に、1点あたりに付けられるtagの総数を75までに制限するというもの。接触機会を増やす為にcontactsをやたら増やす、もしくは必要以上のtagを付ける人は見受けられただけに、まあしょうがないかなと思います。 　フォークソノミーの原点に立ち返って必要最小限のtagにとどめる、とかの「使い方の工夫」はユーザー側でもこころがけたいものですね。

2. On March 15th, 2007 we'll be discontinuing the old email-based Flickr sign in system. From that point on, everyone will have to use a Yahoo! ID to sign in to Flickr. We're making this change now to simplify the sign in process in advance of several large projects launching this year, but some Flickr features and tools already require Yahoo! IDs for sign in -- like the mobile site at m.flickr.com or the new Yahoo! Go program for mobiles, available at http://go.yahoo.com. If you still sign in using the email-based Flickr system (here), you can make the switch at any time in the next few months, from today till the 15th. (After that day, you'll be required to merge before you continue using your account.) To switch, start at this page: http://flickr.com/account/associate/

2点目は、Flickrへのログイン方法が3/15までにYahoo! IDによるログインに統合されるというもの。・・・まだYahoo.comのアカウントを取得していない方は先に取得してから、flickrに戻ってログインのmerge作業を行うことになります。 　Yahoo.comのアカウントは比較的簡単に取得できますが、しかしIDは「既に所得されているもの」が多いのもたしか・・・うちみたいな「resonancedsky」みたいな”間違った英語”のアカウントすら押えられてましたからねぇ 　ログイン方法を統一するだけで、新たに取得したYahoo! IDにFlickrでのユーザネームが統合されてしまうような事はないのでその点はご安心を。 ・・・・・ 　Flickrは、実用的なフォトストレージ/アルバムサービスであると同時に、「画像によるCGM/著作物の共有/イメージ情報の意味付け＆インデキシング」の壮大な実験場であり、今もその実験は継続している。　　スタートから3年近く経つが今のところ大きな破綻を起こす事なく継続している。 　「大崩壊」はいずれ起こりうるのかも知れない・・・・その時に初めて「Web2.0という幻想の崩壊」を私達は目にするのかも知れないが、その日が訪れてしまうまではちょっとでも夢に加担していたいな、と思う次第。　ついでにflickr proアカウントをもう1年延長しちゃいましたが・笑 2/1追加リンク： ●ヤフー、Flickrアカウント統合--Yahoo ID移行にユーザーからは不満の声 - CNET Japan 予想通り"old school"ユーザーの反発は大きかったようです。これを機に優れた作家が多数退会するとしたら残念ですね。
